For 2015, Dodge upgraded the Challenger’s looks, interior and performance. Along with upgrading the standard cars, they also introduced a new SRT high performance version to sit alongside their normal high powered Challenger.
Named Hellcat, the 2015 Challenger boasts some firsts from Dodge. This includes the first ever supercharger attached to a Hemi V8. The folks at Dodge gave us sneak peek of the car and we’re going to share with you some photos and details about the new car.
Dodge CEO Timothy Kuniskis unveiled the car to the first members of the press at the 2014 Midwest Automotive Media Association Spring Rally at Road America. The hood was inspired by the Viper. The scoop sends cold air into the engine compartment, while the vents on the sides let hot air escape freely. According to Mr. Kuniskis, the 2015 Challenger design is based on the 1971 Challenger. The previous one was inspired by the 1970 Challenger.
