2014 Mazda Mazda3 Grand Touring

The Mazda3 Grand Touring has standard HID headlights and LED running lights.

The Mazda3 was completely changed for the 2014 model year. An all-new body wraps an all-new interior and Mazda’s SkyActiv efficiency technology. Refined in a wind tunnel, the curvy lines of the Mazda3 reflect the goal of fuel efficiency. We find the look to be more polarizing than that of the Focus.

Under the hood is Mazda’s new 2.5L SkyActiv 4-cylinder engine. This engine makes 184 hp and 185 lbs/ft of torque. This engine combination is good for 28 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway or 32 mpg combined.

The Gran Touring model also comes standard with rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic headlights that turn around corners and high-intensity discharge headlights. These are items unavailable on the Focus.

The Mazda3 is available in sedan or hatchback like the Focus.

Inside, Mazda uses a new infotainment system that supports both touch screen input and a controller mounted in the center console. This system supports navigation, Bluetooth audio and third party apps like Pandora and Aha Radio. Navigation comes standard with the Grand Touring; there’s no need to pay extra.

A heads up display puts the vehicle’s current speed within eyesight of the driver. An automatically dimming rearview mirror also comes standard. For improved driver engagement, the Mazda3 also has steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters.

The Mazda3 also has standard blind spot monitoring, and can also have radar cruise control, emergency automatic braking and a lane keeping system.
