The 2014 New York International Auto Show marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang. To celebrate, Ford ripped apart a 2015 Mustang and reassembled it on top of the Empire State Building to wow onlookers. Also, they created a special edition of the 2015 Mustang to honor the 50 years of continuous production. The 50 Year Limited Edition will go on sale later this fall and be something quite special for buyers.

Chrome surrounds the taillights on the limited edition.

Chrome use was extensive in the 1960s, so Ford designers added a little bit extra to the 2015 Mustang to pay homage to the original. This includes some chrome trim in the front grille as well as the taillights outlined in chrome.

The rear badge is special on the anniversary edition.

The rear badge will be a faux gas cap with 50th Anniversary and GT on it. There will be other markings on the exterior of the car to show this car’s significance.

Inside, there will be an aluminum plate on the passenger side marking the car as a 50 Year Limited Edition car. That plate will be hand etched at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan. The 50 Year logo will also be on the seatbacks.
