Signs of spring are appearing all over the nation. Now that the snow has melted the sports cars are making their way to the streets. Three of the hottest sports cars for the summer of 2014 will be the latest from the Americans, Germans and British. The BMW M4 convertible joins the Jaguar F-Type and Chevy Corvette convertible for 2014. Here are three convertible sports cars you should expect to see a lot of this summer.

BMW M4 Convertible

BMW M4

The new 4 Series BMW is a sportier, less practical version of the 3 Series sedan. Since the beginning of time, BMW has made their small sedan and coupe into M versions. For 2014, the M4 coupe, sedan and convertible will be hitting showrooms. For a summer cruise, the M4 convertible is the Bimmer to get. Expect the folding metal roof to add $8,250 to the price of the M4 coupe. Options will send the price soaring to nearly $100,000.

Jaguar F-Type Convertible

Jaguar F-Type

On sale since early last summer, the Jaguar F-Type recently received a shot in the arm in the form of a Super Bowl commercial. This will be the first full summer that the F-Type convertible is on sale. Starting at $69,000 the F-Type isn’t cheap. Optioned out, the F-Type hits $90,000 or more. The 1960s sounding exhaust and sexy design will make it popular. Its price and low sales volume will keep it in demand. We loved it when we drove it last year, and would love to have one in our driveway.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 Convertible

America’s supercar is all new for 2014 and represents Chevy’s first world-class performance car. The car’s design makes it a stellar coupe and convertible. The automatic convertible top opens or closes in 20 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. The 460 hp and 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds puts the ‘Vette on par with cars costing $100,000 or more. The car starts at $62,995 with the Z51 package, and tops out at a hair under $80,000. In the supercar world, that is exceptional value for dollar. Corvettes are also an American icon, and we expect to see them all over this summer.

This is the first full summer of sales for all three of these vehicles, and we expect those sales to be strong. Cabin fever combined with a long winter will help convertible sales this spring. These three hot convertibles will be finding their way into garages shortly.
