Mustang Alley at the Woodward Dream Cruise is an area that features… Mustangs. Hundreds are lined up 9 Mile Road from all walks of life and generations. While many vehicles caught our eyes during our stroll down the street, this Roush 427R Mustang is a bit special. Mass-market muscle cars like the Mustang are appealing to tuners and purchasers.

Jack Roush runs several racing teams, including a couple in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series. To help fund racing operations and earn street credibility, Roush builds custom Mustangs for customers who want more out of their machines.

The 427R is supercharged to make more power.

The 2007 427R is designed to have the most performance that Roush could put into a Mustang. Suspension and brake modifications were nonexistent, but the supercharger adds approximately 115hp to the stock V8 motor. Also, the 417R featured a custom body kit and a wide array of interior customizations as well. They included custom seats, badging and specialized shift knob.

Each 427R was dyno-tested and stamped with a horsepower rating before leaving the facility.

To help with the bragging rights of the owner, Roush would also dyno-test the 427R before leaving the shop and receive a stamp with the actual horsepower and torque ratings. Since every motor has different characteristics, this number may be different depending on the vehicle. It is also a statement from Roush standing behind their modifications.

The white with orange paint scheme is definitely bold.

Unfortunately the owner was not around to ask questions about his or her vehicle, but suffice it to say this is definitely a Mustang that stands out in a crowd. That is an impressive feat amongst all of the great Mustangs at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
