The Internet is the new incubator of ideas and trends that would never have taken shape otherwise. Planking, the Harlem Shake, and Chocolate Rain are all Internet sensations. Another obsession fostered by the Internet is the obsession with bacon. Ford has joined in on the bacon sensation and offered up a 2014 Ford Fiesta wrapped in bacon.

Once just a breakfast item, bacon is now in almost every product imaginable. According to Allan Benton, CEO of Benton’s Country Hams, told interviewers for Ford, “In the 40 years I’ve been in this business, I’ve never seen so much interest in bacon. It’s being used in bourbon, chocolate, ground beef, caramel corn and whatever else you can think of.” The world’s obsession with bacon has even spawned International Bacon Day.

Ford Fiesta Bacon

The 2014 Ford Fiesta wrapped entirely in bacon.

Customizing a Ford Fiesta with vinyl wraps has been something something owners have done since the inception in America. Though Ford Custom Graphics, drivers can purchase wraps with a variety of themes. For those interested in the bacon, they can be purchased as strips that are placed over the rear wheels. They can also be used a hood racing stripes. Finally, there is a complete wrap (show above).

Unlike many one-offs or special event vehicles, people can actually order the bacon wraps from the before-mentioned Ford Custom Graphics site. It will be interesting to see how many people opt to put the delicious pig product on their vehicles. However, the bacon-wrapped Fiesta does show how easy it easy for someone to make their vehicle stand out from the crowd for very little money. If anything, this Fiesta will make more people aware of the custom graphics that Ford offers. They partner with 3M for the graphics, and should have great longevity.

The graphics start as little at $80 (plus installation) and are available from Ford Custom Graphics.
