Ford F-150s are available with some cutting edge infotainment and safety technologies. When we drove a 2013 F-150 SVT Raptor last year, that truck came equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, forward and rear facing cameras, MyFord Touch with navigation, and heated and cooled seats. Also it had a locking rear differential and a special off-road mode.

For 2015 Ford will offer even more technology. LED headlights replace the HIDs as options. Accessing the Truck Apps is easier with a larger digital display in the instrument cluster. MyFord Touch remains, as well as the heated and cooled seats. The 2015 F-150 will have an optional lane-keeping system and adaptive cruise control. Blind spot monitoring will also come as an option.

Even more cameras help drivers see better. Not only are there front and rear cameras, but there are cameras on both sides of the truck. This provides a 360 degree view around the truck.

Optional ramps make loading cargo easier in the 2015 F-150.

LED spotlights line the bed to make it easier to see cargo at night. Optional ramps make it easier to load cargo. Finally, the rear tailgate locks with the truck from the key fob, helping to prevent tailgate theft.

If you do not care about the technology options, you will be able to get both the 2014 F-150 and 2015 F-150 as basic trucks. But if you like having this type of technology on board, definitely wait for the 2015.
